Melissa Collins is a dedicated yoga teacher whose journey began in 2010 when she left a 13-year career in tech support to explore new horizons. This leap of faith led her to discover yoga, igniting a passion that would reshape her life and career.

As a 200E-RYT registered with Yoga Alliance, Melissa obtained her yoga certification in 2013 from Lifted Life Yoga School under the guidance of owner/mentor Julie Branham and mentor Debbie Arnell. Her expertise encompasses yoga poses, anatomy, alignment, pose modification, philosophy, history, and the use of yoga props.

Melissa is committed to making yoga accessible and inclusive for all. With a focus on gentle and intentional movement, she guides students in building strength, flexibility, and range of motion. As a yoga props specialist, she utilizes props to enhance practice, support the body in restorative poses, and make yoga accessible to all body types.

Her classes incorporate pranayama, meditation, and yoga nidra to promote overall well-being and connection to self. Melissa's teaching style is characterized by friendly, inviting, and meditative instruction, emphasizing the foundations of poses to help students enhance their personal practice. She strives to create an inclusive environment where students understand that flexibility, strength, or body type are not prerequisites for practicing yoga.

In addition to her yoga expertise, Melissa is a Licensed Massage Therapist, which enhances her understanding of human anatomy and complements her yoga instruction. She has further expanded her healing abilities by becoming a Usui Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master, integrating this powerful energy healing modality into her holistic approach to wellness.

Melissa's diverse skill set also includes a degree in Web Graphic Design, reflecting her creative side. She believes in the transformative power of yoga and strives to create a space where students can leave feeling renewed and empowered to live their best lives.

When not on her yoga mat, teaching, or conducting healing sessions, Melissa enjoys exploring new travel destinations with her husband, spending time with her two Boston Terriers and three adult children, creating delicious and healthy meals, tending to her garden, and delving into the world of tarot and tea leaves.

Through her multifaceted approach to wellness and creativity, Melissa continues to inspire and guide others on their own journeys of self-discovery and healing, embodying the wisdom of The Bhagavad Gita: "Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self."
